Services Offered to Administrators
With State learning standards and the importance of students developing 21st century skills at an early age, ongoing curriculum planning is essential in schools. Mission to Mentor will work with Administrators to align their curriculum with the standards in order to satisfy programmatic requirements and needs, develop interdisciplinary curricula, and properly follow a scope and sequence while instituting a sense of accountability.
Every individual should strive to be a lifelong learner. As educators, your aim should be to inspire your students to take ownership of their learning and continue on their path of education. Teachers and Administrators should also hold themselves to the same standard. Providing your school community with opportunities to attend seminars and workshops within the building or at another facility is essential to feed their minds! Mission to Mentor can assess your needs in regard to developing the adult lifelong learner by examining programmatic needs and areas of growth for particular individuals or a whole group.
Informal teacher observation should take on an organic form where the presence of the administrator in the classroom should be the norm, not the exception. Students and faculty should expect to see the administrator become a part of the class. Mission to Mentor will demonstrate how a healthy relationship between teacher and administrator can be achieved with various natural techniques. On those occasions where a more formalized observation is required in written form, an evaluative form with specific pedagogical areas to evaluate in an objective and narrative manner will be created to meet the needs of what your school expects from their faculty.
Those few times during an academic year where the teacher has the opportunity to summarize in written format the varying abilities of a student is a daunting task. Progress and reports cards should be designed in an informative format that allows the reader to draw a true gauge of a child as a student in a school setting. Mission to Mentor understands the immense importance of consistency within the skills and narrative areas of said reports, and also the limitations that exist in regard to space or technology. Working together, a report format can be created that aims to satisfy all areas of relevance while meeting the expectations of your school community.
